Merdi, day 52 of Autumn, 554

The recent Chaos Storm seems to have swept clean the Dred Passage, so that it is passable once again. The massive Dredlock firepower on the last two trips has been an unpleasant sight to behold, and I was pleased to make it through this time.

Today's group (shown here in the Meadow, minus Mjollnir) had no real trouble in the Dred Passage today, just the usual level of lightning that we know how to handle quite well. We reached the Pitch Caverns reasonably quickly, and were inordinately thankful to have done so.

I had some serious trouble today, and fell asleep on my feet twice at Pitch Cave 1, once after a Zu run and once during the initial fighting phase. I did manage to make it back up the ladder both times, but barely. I apologize for any confusion or trouble.

When I finally shook off the unpleasantly long second daze and looked around, I found myself alone. The group had (as they should under the circumstances) moved on. I quickly ran through PC1, then PC2 until I found the group in PC3. Thankfully, I managed to avoid the Noids that were just returning to PC1 and PC2, since no one would have come back for me at that time.

Just as I was recovering my wits and was realizing that I needed to run through PC1 to catch up, I heard Nightbird complain over sunstone that he was angry and had departed. I was very confused. I think this issue has been resolved happily, or at least satisfactorily, for the parties involved.

In any case, I rejoined the group just in time to advance to PC4 and quickly on to PC5 once again. At last!

I tried to get a group picture in PC5 as usual, but I never was able to find a moment where everyone managed to stay quiet long enough!

Unfortunately, our joy at attaining PC5 was not meant to last long, as we were quickly felled upon entering PC6. It was one of those entries where it doesn't seem to matter whether we do it wrong or right - we're in trouble. Still, returning safely to PC5 once again after those recent failures felt very good.
