Current Training: K'Pyn (Evus). At the next message level change, I'm considering changing to a Detha/Swengus rotation.
Circle test this week: Failed miserably, having inadvertently gone in wearing my orga eye! No wonder I was hitting like a mystic.
Donations: Meyson Carpent, Fat Alice's hut builder on the Kizmia Island West
beach.
Exploration: I caught a glimpse of what I thought it might be part of a new area in the River Tunnel area, but upon a thorough inspection it turned out to be just a minor rearrangement of what was always there, perhaps after an earthquake. Previously, the entrance from the River Tunnel main crawler hall to the dark cave was on the South side at the SW corner; now it is on the West side at the SW corner. Tricky!
Weapons, weapons, weapons! After nearing my goal of having one of every weapon available in the lands (I am STILL looking for a mace and main gauche, but have simply given up on an oak basher), suddenly Witkus gets some new inventory. Some? Many! He is overflowing in weapons. Finally. Broad and longswords, rapiers, hammers, axes. Suddenly my goal is pointless, outdated. There is not enough room in my pack for all of these! Plus, several other scattered entrepreneurs are selling staves, hand axes and a kind of flail they called a 'crawler cracker'. I bought only the hand axe, and await some word of how all these weapons compare in ability before eliminating my bank balance. I suspect my axe will remain my main choice, with greatsword for those tough-to-hit creatures and my fell blade for the impossible-to-hit ones.
I happened to be around at an unusually late hour, and over the sunstone heard Merlisk claiming to be summoning Wendeckas to town through some magic. Suddenly many cries came to my mind of exiles falling to Angry Mother Sasquatches. Apparently, Merlisk was more successful than he had hoped, and called forth 5-6 AMS to town. It made a fun mess, especially because many younger exiles who had apparently never seen AMS before kept getting pounded flat in one hit. With some quick thinking, Falken discovered how to trap all the AMS in the healer hall, allowing the fighters to get organized and attack them one at a time. It was still a mess, what with 50 exiles trying to tag, and fallens blocking the way of the stronger exiles, but all the AMS were dispatched in time. I hit four with my fell blade. It certainly kept the healers very very busy for short awhile.
I managed to solo a Blood Wyrm in the Rocky Cavern without a healer's assistance and without a Troilus break, for the first time. Whoo! It gives me hope that I might eventually actually pass the 5th circle test someday (hah!)
I saw some berries in the meadow, and thought I had found much-sought-after orgaberries, but they turned out to be only tangleberries.
Silky informed me that she was offering lessons, having just acquired a training ledger from Detha. Whoo! Now I know where to go when I do get around to adding some defensive training.
I had heard rumors
that Fat Alice had prepared a salve for helping cure some unheard-of disease
she called "lyfelidism" and that it takes rather exotic and hard-to-find
ingredients. Well, it appears there are among us some exiles suffering from
this strange ailment. I heard that Althea might be among them, but today while
hunting I saw a strange change come over Panos at midnight. He shuddered and
cried out, and took on the form of a lyfelidae right before my eyes. Strange
that this malady was unheard of before Fat Alice came to visit Puddleby island
for a time. It makes me concerned that she might in some way be behind the appearance
of this disease among us now.
I was getting ready to do some hunting in the Tree Giant Breeding Grounds, and noticed something very peculiar in the tunnel leading from the Spirit Wood. There were several Vixen in there, and as I fought them, some seemed to vanish! Every time one touched the wall of the tunnel, it disappeared. The same thing happened to a Giant Vermine. Some odd magic seems to have been invested in this tunnel, but by who and to what end?
