Circle test this week: Failed miserably. After killing both the Banshee and Lava Beetle in the last several tests, I found myself completely unable to hit that Banshee today. By the time I had actually killed it, I had almost no health left and soon fell to the Lava Beetle. In the good news department, I was avoiding hits pretty well, but I double-swung a few times and took hits. I never see Banshee 'in the wild' to estimate if they have changed (see below), or whether I was simply unlucky today. I really don't want to add more Atkus!

Exploration: The lands seem very quiet, after the major changes to the passes last storm.

The chaos storm swept away the small Cold & Snowy area that I was spending so much time in last week. I miss it already.

Various unusual occurrences have conspired to keep me in the library much more than usual lately (including the persistent dream of a cold and snowy land making travel well-nigh impossible), so I feel that I am getting a very late start after this storm.

I did peek out once and got invited by Gurgi to a hunt on Dal'Noth, but I ended up needing to leave urgently soon after I arrived. I tried for a quick run out to the sea from the lake and through Dal'town, alone, but had the misfortune to find 3 Vel'Noths blocking my way in town. I fell just a couple short lengths from the potential safety of the woods beyond the east gate. The good news is it took over 6 bolts to fell me.

My first visit to Purgatory in quite some time was a hurried one, and I ran straight out of the temple and into the library. I apologize profusely to Gurgi, who turned to whole hunt around to try to rescue silly me, but I just didn't have the time to spare. The head librarian can be a cruel mistress, and there are some times when she must be obeyed at any cost.

After the strange day last week with incredibly powerful undine in the Dark Chamber, I (and many other exiles) have been avoiding the place. When the Dark Temple proved to be Liche-less today, a few of us took a chance and dove into the Chamber. It turned out to be pretty much normal, thankfully. I am still puzzled about what might have increased the strength of the undine so much, whether it affects Honor's captive Banshees, and if this presages a further threat to the safety of all Puddleby.
