Current Training: K'Pyn (Evus).
Circle test this week: trying again "soon", aiming to take down at least one Midnight Wendecka.
Donations: Loom'bir, who is building a public bath house.
Exploration: Still see Wishergate sparks, but can't open. Same at McBolie's cavern. Found an unmarked trail to the Darshak Horde. Whee!
Lundi, day 42 of Autumn, 545.
I was pleased to see Jannar in the Lands this day, after a long absence. We had a nice time chatting and worrying about missing friends, while doing a bit of hunting.
In the TGBG, we found quite a few Oak Giants today.
Of course, we also paid a courtesy call on Jannar's Grove. Today it was full of Slugs and Spriggins, and a few Large Ferals. Always the unexpected mix of creatures in there!
Terrdi, day 30 of Autumn, 545.
This has probably been one of the most unexpectedly unusual days in the Lands for me, in quite a long time.
When I stepped out of the Library, a young Apprentice Mystic named Caesia asked if she could ask me a few questions for her "survey". So instead of rounding up the usual pile of furs, like I was expecting, I sat down and chatted with her for almost two hours. It was a really great time.
She was particularly curious about my view of the Lands, and how older exiles view exile and the challenges we face.
Well, one thing I am not is un-opinionated, so I let her have it. She asked, after all.
I must say, she is a very patient listener. And a thoughtful soul too - she asked some very intriguing and difficult questions. For my own part, I got to an interesting view of a much younger exile's thinking about these Lands.
And got more than a couple surprises when she admitted not knowing of quite a few (to me) very prominent exiles, or she spoke of some exiles as if they were ones _I_ should know, that I had never heard of. I guess that is our age difference showing through.
I'm not sure what she intends to do with my answers, or those of other folks she is clearly also "surveying", but I wish her well.
I imagine that in a very short time, she will be the best-informed exile in the Lands on the real mood of the populace.
Fordi, day 18 of Autumn, 545.
When Urgelt dusted himself off and came out of the library, I knew just how to take advantage of him. I organized "The Heavy-Hitter Tour". Together with K'Pyn, Mujin-kun and Yor, with Tater and Sai healing, we took on three Sunwyrms in the Rocky Cavern. Then we were joined by Shen Calin and Darnok, and moved out to sea to take care of a Culcan that had been skulking around Kizmia's Island, and finished off with two Liche in the Dark Temple. You just can't beat those tough vanquishes for leaving you with a feeling of tired satisfaction.
Gradi, day 1 of Autumn, 545.
I awoke to find I had developed a finer sense of the ease or difficulty I had in killing creatures. I was unsurprised to learn that Grey Wyrms, Swamp Ferals, and Tree Giants presented little difficulty ('dispatch'), since I had been slaughtering a fair percentage of these. I was surprised that Large Sand Wurms, Cave Maha Ruknee and Orga Rage also fell into the same category, since I slaughter few of these at all. Orga Furies, Willow Giants and Bloodwyrms seem to be a notch above, thankfully. I still need to test this sense on Greymyrs, Greater Wraiths, Wailing Spirits, Megamouths and the various 'Noths.
Today, Vagile announced she wanted to visit the Snaggywood, so together with Farhope and Wedilen, we set off to see what those dark woods held. Not much, it turned out. We easily ran through the entire wood and to Bones' snell, then we pathfinders bumped our noses on Wisher's Gate for awhile. I _know_ there's a path there, but for the life of me I can't seem to use it.
I also spent some time poking about on Ash Island, since spotting a path there last storm whetted my interest in seeing the far corners of this island after ignoring it for a long time. First, I realized that the Darshak trail mark that looks like a house I noted last week, I had indeed seen before. Second, I noticed a Darshak Acolyte that slipped away into some trees where there was no obvious Darshak trail marking or gap in the trees, but upon stepping in anyway was unsurprised to find myself in the midst of the Darshak Horde. It's amazing to think how terrifying this area was just a short time ago, and now I simply killed every moving thing there and headed on my way. Other than that, I saw no other paths or trails I had not seen previously. I still feel there is more to the interior of this island than is easily accessible, beyond the Darshak encampment and the Scarmis pen.
