Current Training: Histia, for a little while, until Evus raises his assessment of me yet again.
Circle test this week: Beaten down handily.
Donations: Undrus.
Exploration: An aborted OOB hunt that got stuck in Hatred Hollow shows us that Warlock lightning has gotten stronger. I found a tree shortcut path on Tenebrion's Island.
Terrdi, day 18 of Spring, 546.
We had finished the usual Kizmia's Island East cove cave/Fat Alice hut hunt, when we decided to try hunting a Liche. I waltzed into the Dark Temple and was instantly face-to-face with a Greater Death. Before I could blink, he whacked me down to a very low red, but I quickly regained my senses and ran out screaming. Thankfully, there was a way past all the undine milling about. I was more surprised than anything that I survived the encounter. Praise Histia!
Afterward I went coining in the Orionwood
and then on Tenebrion's Island.
In one of the undine-filled fields south of Flander's field, I saw that one tree had a tunnel underneath it, heading South. Of course I slipped in, and found myself popping above ground again far to the Southeast, across a river.
Try as I might (and I stared a long, long time), I could not get back to the North through this under-tree passage, although I can see the hole and it is clearly possible to squeeze through that way.
I didn't have time today, but I think I shall have to look more closely around Tenebrion's Island for further paths like this.
Sombdi, day 7 of Spring, 546.
Today I was asked to help out a Dal'Noth Island hunt that ran into trouble with Hel'Noths. Four of them. The previous hunt was a bit light on healer and fighter power for these, and were driven right off the island. We went in a bit more prepared, and had a nice time vanquishing them.
Afterward, the Coliseum was open, so I took the chance to try my skills against Orga Wraths. I vanquished 4 and ran out of time on another that had better defense. I was pleased.
Lundi, day 85 of Winter, 546.
I've been doing a lot of coining
lately, Northwest Forest to Bear Caves, Muddy Forest and Feral Coast, Northern
Plains to the Wendecka passes. Repeat.
Finally my bank balance is well into the black.
Veer organized an Orga Outback hunt, and I was pleased to join in. I wanted to test the Hatred Hollow exit path, and wanted some payback for our previous unsuccessful attempt to pass through several days ago. We were well staffed this time, and made it through Hatred Hollow without too much difficulty.
Unfortunately, once we got to the far side, a certain pathfinder just zoomed right through the exit without waiting for the two of us who wanted to test it to have a chance. Sigh. It was either follow immediately, or chance getting stuck.
The hunt itself was fun, since I enjoy playing tag with big red orga when I can find them.
As for regular Orga, you
can keep them, thanks very much ...
Sombdi, day 76 of Winter, 546.
After the Storm passed, I spent some
time looking for new builders.
Just before the Storm, I heard Cham Murr think, "Wouldnt you like to see Bick's renovations soon? We can do it, but we need your donations!" And indeed, Bick's is now closed, with a renovation sign. There is no sign of this Cham chap, though.
Loom'bir has not only finished the Bath house, it is open. The same cannot be said for Cassia Allin's hut expansion, nor that scofflaw Usnar and his perpetually delayed South Forest outpost.
I will stick with Undrus and his new efforts to the North, for the time being.
I also signed on for an Orga Outback Hunt organized by Veer, since I wanted to refresh my use of the Wishergate path and hoped to try the Hatred Hollow exit path as well. We never made it halfway into Hatred's Hollow, despite several attempts. The Warlock bolts had a new look to them, but to my mind seemed about the same. The healers assured me the have a new zing to go with that new look, and our rod always faltered as they came out of the first choke-point. The one time it seemed we might make it, I dozed off for a few crucial minutes and woke up fallen and very embarassed. When we finally lost our rod point, Suu'ub III, beyond the point of ready healing, it was time to gather the fallens and head home. The next group to try this will be much more over-staffed with healers, I'm sure.
