Current Training: Regia (with Mujin-kun).
Circle test this week: Not attempted yet.
Donations: Cham Murr, who is building the long-delayed Fighter Pub.
Exploration: A small clearing in the tree-wall ringing the Northern Plains near the Chamelopod Forest looks awfully suspicious, but I can find no way to enter it.
Fordi, day 63 of Summer, 546.
As expected, I trained 20-some times
with Regia, and Swengus recognized another 50 trainings, to a total of 700.
If I persisted with Regia for another 70 lessons, I should reach the equivalent
of 850 trainings with Swengus.
I had hoped this path would put me close to a ledger, but the recent acquisition of Swengus ledgers by both Charlos and Althea will have pushed the level required for the next one into the 900 training range. Since I would need both Balthus and Regia training to progress to that point (about another 50 Swengus trainings beyond the 70 Regia lessons), I decided I will pass, thanks.
So it's back to Evus for awhile to get my Atkus over 300 finally, then I'll get back to Regia again.
Lundi, day 59 of Summer, 546.
I was wandering the Northern Plains
collecting furs, when I noticed a small clearing beyond a thick stand of trees
at the edge of the Plains near the Chamelopod Forest. The treeline here had
changed some about a season or two ago, but I hadn't noticed this previously.
In the clearing, there appears to be but a single tree, pretty unremarkable. But tantalizing and frustrating, because I can't reach it.
Try as I might, I cannot find a way through the dense brush into this clearing. No paths through the brushy undergrowth, no tunnels around the base of trees nearby, and no sign of the other side of the clearing from nearby areas to the North or West, or in the Chamelopod Forest (to the Northwest).
Sa'Wrap was also unable to find any paths when i asked him to look too, and Valtrim noted no illusions nearby.
I wonder if this small clearing may be a key to understanding why the Dark Master who made the chamelopods, did make them, then left them locked away hereabouts when he went away mysteriously?
I will be keeping an eye out.
Terrdi, day 47 of Summer, 546.
The past many days have been an uneventful
blur of routine hunting, with nothing out of the ordinary to report.
But yesterday evening when I stepped from the library, I heard the call to a rescue a party that had fallen in the Valley. It was dusk,, and the group had apparently met a powerful reception in the exit cave that wiped them out. The fallens included Manx, Althea, Astor, Achates, Crunch, and Habakuk Lal.
I started after a large group that had already entered the Valley, and survived two cobras nipping at my heels in the entry cave to finally join up with the crowd in the first part of the Valley.
All through the night, we fought our way through quite a few Valley Panthers and young Sasquatches to get to the distant East end of the Valley. With a powerful fighter like Mujin-kun along, as well as quite a few healers, we moved right along, with only a couple of moments of terror.
At the far end of the Valley, the dangerous exit cavern awaited. It was full of Stinging Beetles and a few Cave Cobras, but after some effort, we managed to clear it.
Darnok bravely ran the gauntlet to chain out many of the fallen party, as well as our own fighters who fell while working to make it safe to pass through.
Unfortunately, almost all of the original group were in such poor health that they had to be chained out to town in the end. Achates was raised, but he appeared dazed and totally unresponsive. In the end we had to resort to a mercy killing so he could be chained along with the others.
All-in-all, it was an exciting rescue adventure, and a fine example of Puddlebeans pulling together to help their comrades.
Gradi, day 11 of Summer, 546.
After the recent Chaos Storm, I was
pleased to see that one Cham Murr has set up shop at the old Fighter Test animal
holding pens, and proposes to convert them into a Fighter Pub.
Since the original Fighter Pub site in town has been inactive for approximately forever, I will be donating all my extra materials here, and I encourage all other fighters to do the same. The Healers have theirs, as do the Mystics. It's about time we had our own watering hole.
