Fordi, day 87 of Spring, 547.

I have nothing much to report lately. Spring has pretty much passed by in a blur of reptition. I train with K'Pyn relentlessly, but I saw yet another fighter with a training ledger from Evus - so that goal is getting pushed back much faster than I can reach it. I have also been lazy about taking the Sixth circle test, because I know I don't have enough Atkus training yet to have a serious chance at passing. Still, the practice would be useful. I should try harder.

I go on hunts in and around Melabrion's Keep when I can, and generally leave with some disastrously fallen exile(s) on my chain. Otherwise, I hunt for furs. On the bright side, the bank tellers smile when they see me now.

The only real news is a step-back: I lost the ability to open Wisher's Gate, yet again. I have gone back a couple times recently hoping to regain the ability to at least see the path, but no luck so far. That is what I get for being lazy and failing to practice slipping through the path at least once a zodiac.

Fordi, day 31 of Spring, 547.

Another day, another hunt at Melabrion's Island.

While there, we went into Melabrion's Keep itself to kill several Mud Golems lurking within, and noted that the stairway leading up was open. After killing more Mud Golems on the upper floors, we took some time to examine these rooms.

On one level, a kind Dwarven lady named Olivine informed us that she would make us a Ruby Necklace from a fine Ruby and a lump of Gold. None of our party had these on hand, but I am curious to see what properties this necklace might have. Stacked all around her were books on gemstones of various sorts, which seems to be a major interest of Melabrion, in addition to the foul necromancy or whatever magick animates his Mud Golems.

We also noted that Mud Golems are now throwing their rocks all the way over the castle walls at any exiles assembled outside. Be wary!

I also helped on the rescue of a group wiped out in the Dal'Noth underground. We were finishing up at Melabrion's Keep when their cries filled our sunstones.

A very strong rescue group gathered, forewarned by the fate of the group before us.

We swept through the underground fairly easily, considering the number of Hel'Noths and Tuz'Noths we encountered.

I took the opportunity to closely examine the blocked passage, but saw no way over or through the debris pile to the other side. There must be a way.

Gradi, day 28 of Spring, 547.

Being a foolish fighter, I ran into the Abyss before the Chaos Storm swept in, and fell there quickly along with quite a number of other foolish exiles. The Fire Rats feasted that day.

When I awoke after the Storm had passed, I found myself in the Temple in town. And wouldn't you know it: a rat was nibbling on me even there!

It took quite a number of healers to see me on my feet again, but healers seem to love nothing more than a challenge. They kept trickling in to town to try their luck, and eventually I was healed.

It was very embarassing to have Shamhat dust herself off and step from the library to chastise me in public.
