Terrdi, day 47 of Winter, 550.
This morning, I joined a surprisingly
large crowd of exiles on a mission to help several exiles reach the Trainer's
Grotto past Hatred Hollow.
Of course, since I have been delinquent about refreshing this skill for some months, I was unable to open Wisher's Gate. Kodo opened it readily, and we swept straight on into Hatred Hollow.
The resistance was fairly light, with no Orga Hatreds to be seen. We had plenty of healers along, so the rodding went very smoothly, with Zoa at the point. We pushed on through fairly quickly, with only one retreat to regroup after the rod got too far ahead of the fighters and started to get hit as well as shocked.
Naturally, I could not open the exit path either.
Once past Hatred Hollow, we headed straight to the trainer cave, and very quickly returned to town, since no one had enough time to spend hunting in the Orga Outback. Still, it was a fun reminder that the deep orga country is out there waiting for adventurous exiles, and I hope to get back that way soon.
Today I also noted that Balthus bowed
to me for the first time, right as I expected.
I continue to train with Balthus, and should be making significant progress toward earning a second Training Ledger, from Swengus.
Soon, soon, if I remain patient and persistent.
Yesterday's hunt was at Kizmia's
Island Glacier, where we pursued several Tae-su Lyfelidae.
One of the Tae-su more correctly pursued us, and by the time it was finally killed, it had left a trail of fallen exiles in its wake (myself included).
I also found the time to stand in
line in town square to have Zorton retune my trusty old Sunstone into a Sungem.
I'm not sure how much I will actually use the new finer gradations of thinkto,
but it seems like a handy tool to have on hand. In any case, Zorton is one busy
Mystic, and a very ripe Spriggin target!
Later, while hunting for furs near the Northeast Forest Lake, I ran into a bevy of Spriggins myself. Lately, these annoying thieves have been unable to make away cleanly with quite so much of their loot, and often one finds many pilfered coins on their corpses. Still, I was quite surprised to see one of them had dropped a coin on the ground as it fled my blade.
Lundi, Day 31 of Winter, 550.
I hunted the Kizmia's Island Cove last night during the Full Moon with Mujin-kun, Lister and Talin.
We took on several Tae-su and Orgaberry Lyfelidae during their strongest phase, and eventually managed to take them down, one at a time.
On balance though, they won. The hunt took us much of the evening, and they felled us many times before we finally felled each of them, even fighting them three-on-one.
I also ruined two chains (with over 150 pulls on the first one, sigh), and Talin used hers many, many times - with no breaks, thankfully.
While we were on the Glacier, I noted
that Frost Orga have a much nicer and leaner look now.
It makes one wonder whether Frost Orga might have even larger and stronger cousins lurking somewhere?
There appeared to be no attempt at attacking the deep Orga Camps during this Full Moon. Too few exiles were awake.
