Fordi, day 18 of Autumn, 552.
Bawkmas is in full swing in town,
with decorations everywhere, on trees and buildings alike.
I was particularly intrigued by this curious flickering lamp decoration on the Library.
Shredded potatoes are back in season, but I have yet to actually find any potatoes.
Thankfully, the cold and snowy "Bawkmas Cove" has also reopenned off the North Field, and I have taken advantage of it looking for occassional Ice Giants and Frost Giants to chop down. I hear of Drake strikes and other odd invasions, but have yet to be out of the Library to see one.
I joined Fundin, Sakim
and Amad'eus for some coin hunting today. We made a large rounds of the Northwest
Forest, Bear Caves, Muddy North Forest, Feral Den and Fringe, as well as the
Northern Plains and the Chamelopod pen.
We also stopped in at Jannar's Grove to see what oddness was present. Today it was Young Rockodiles and Skelatons, as well as more expected Ferals, Tree Giants and Spriggins.
There was one very odd Spriggin that kept yelling "Yoink!", which seems an odd thing for a Spriggin to say. Usually they just taunt us that we are too slow to catch them. Then again, Spriggins are odd creatures. Sakim made the mistake of coming in with a heavily laden purse, and the Spriggins had a quick feast of him. In particular, the Yoink! Spriggin lifted almost 1000c from him in one swoop, and when we killed it, it coughed up 800c as well as lamented the fact that we got him. Never heard one do that before. Very strange. Anyway, Jannar's is not recommended for coin hunters. Any money you do make was stolen from your friends.
Lundi, day 76 of Summer, 552.
Events have conspired, and things have changed. Fundin has reported that he is getting out of the mob adventure organizing business, due in part to recent teleportation balkiness. Can't say that I blame him. I have greatly enjoyed exploring the Foothills and the Web Cavern in these mob hunts though. It got me there enough to train fully with Giayl's Guide, when I wasn't getting out there any other way. Thanks dwarf, it was fun while it lasted.
Today, I helped with a rescue
effort at the Jade Arachnoid Cavern. Several exiles had fallen there, and of
course had then slipped into the depths of the cavern.
Thankfully Tyndall and Mujin-kun showed up, because I certainly can't fend off attacks by Jade Arachnoids enough to fight them toe-to-toe, and they hurt! Of course, I soon enough fell myself trapped in the mob of exiles pushing deeper, and then quickly sunk to the bottom too (along with most everyone else), but Tyndall and Mujin-kun kept their heads and cleared the cave.
Still, chainers have to beware even a Noid-free Jade cave. They always seem to get too ambitious and end up losing most of their chainees among the inevitable webs. Several times I was chained, only to be stuck fast in the sticky webs.
The Noids appearing above us to block the passage out didn't help any either.
Still, in the end, all were rescued. A dangerous place that!
