Storm 366.

Current Training: Evus.

Donations: Cassia Allin (20-30%).

Exploration: Creating a more detailed map of North Kizmia's Island.

Merdi, day 39 of Autumn, 556.

I have made several trips to Kizmia's Island recently, usually as part of a tiny group - Mujin-kun and Talin, and sometimes with a second healer (Sai or Puffy-s), and sometimes not. We have been concentrating our hunts on the North side of the island, and have stopped at the Scarmis den there to collect valuable eggs such as these two.

Mujin-kun and Talin recently discovered several more new paths near Kizmia's hut, bringing the total number of unopenned paths there to nine!

Of these, only one shows the tell-tale double sparklie that indicates it can be openned with the 130 pathfinding lessons I have. All the others will require additional training to open.

Despite several visits and a lot of staring, this one "openable" path refuses to open for me, or Talin. In fact, no one has been able to open this path yet, to my knowledge.

The currently available map of North Kizmia's Island, by Kiriel d'Sol, while useful, has many ambiguities - particularly where snells have multiple exits and entries. And there are entire snells missing. This bothered me enough that I took the time to carefully scan the entire North side of the island over these recent trips, and then compile this information into a more detailed map that can be found here. I hope other exiles find it useful.

Plus, I was very curious where all those paths at Kizmia's hut might lead ... but there do not seem to be any undiscovered "missing" areas nearby. My suspicion is that they allow Kizmia to quickly skip to many sections of the North part of the Island surrounding her hut.

As a dedicated Kudzu farmer, I immediately noticed a very welcome change after the last Chaos Storm as I worked to fill up my 10 Kudzu bags.

Previously, one had to search under a cut Kudzu bush to find a fresh seedling to collect. Since only the rare bush yields a viable seedling, that was a lot of searching.

Now, seedlings are readily seen atop the cut bush, as shown here. This makes collecting seedings much quicker, since I can skip the searching step and get on to cutting the next bush if no seedling is visible.
