Exploration: Tok'han mines
Terrdi, Day 79 of Winter, 558.
With PTF, I ventured into
Melabrion's Mines recently.
Our intent was to go as deep as possible into the sealed off Tok'Han section so I could search for difficult paths that might be there.
We worked our way in to the deeper, more dangerous areas, killing a number of Lime and Emerald Tok'Hans.
When we reached the lava area, however, we were unable to get a workable toehold in the face of five Lime and a couple Emerald Tok'Hans, backed up by numerous flame-throwing Tok'Han Shamen.
Numerous fighter attacks followed by daring chain and teleport rescues left us no closer to entering the snell safely.
We could killed several weaker Tok'Hans, but could only wound the tougher ones and never finish one off.
We could never concentarte on one Tok'Han for long before withdrawing, and ended up attacking a different beast on the next attempt after retreating, rescueing and healing.
When Zorton finally broke his teleport stone, we decided to call it a day.
So, the mystery of whether any deeper sections of these caves might exist that are accessible through a difficult path remains unanswered, at least for the last two known snells. I saw nothing new in the snells we did traverse.
I joined a group in helping
Zaerion reach deep into Tenebrion's ex-tower to speak to someone there.
We rather easily made our way through the Keep and up the Tower.
I collected three crystal shards along the way, but the Keeper that should have had the key t the Keep basement was nowhere to be found in the Tower, and so we were unable to collect the fourth crytal shard there.
It was disappointing that we were unable to help get Zaerion where he needed to go.
Apparently, the Keeper of the Key withdrew when Tenebrion left.
Perhaps Tenebrion did not want to totally relinquish ownership of this castle, and does not want the new ownwers or others traipsing through the basement.
I did manage to spend some
profitable time hunting on Kizmia's Island with this fine group.
Profitable both for coins - with Connie's expert skinning - and for experience, which seems harder and harder for me to earn.
I have been accumulating experience for some time, and this is becoming very noticeable.
Trillbane's Commentaries on Ways still beckons me with more lessons, but I wonder how long it will be before I get the opportunity to read that book again!
PAG's latest attempts have not been overly encouraging.
Still I will hang out longer, since I am so well aware of how hard it is to reach that book, and I want to be sure to read it all when I next get a chance.
Several times
in this recent zodiac I have found myself standing over The Tao of Trillbane,
usually while helping escort other exiles to reach that valuable book to continue
their pathfinding training.
Whenever I find myself there, I try to read it again, but to no avail, as if the constant reminders that I have finished the lessons in this book aren't enough.
In any case, the other 11 PAG pathfinders are all catching up with my training, creating a pool of highly skilled pathfinders that can open some very interesting paths. And are taunted by a couple very intriguing paths too.
And as always,
I found some time to search for ore around the Lands, as well as nice pelts.
I was pleased to find a likely looking piece of copper ore, which I added to my stash against the day when we learn to extract this valuable metal
